2. Data Processing and Transfer to the USA

  • Data Processor: Google LLC, located in the United States, acts as a data processor on our behalf.
  • Data Transfer: By using this chatbot, you acknowledge and agree that your personal data, including the content of your chat conversations, will be transmitted to and processed by Google in the United States. A transfer only takes place when you sent a query to the chatbot. Simply loading the chatbot doesn’t transfer any data.
  • Data Storage: The chat conversations are stored only on our servers, located in Germany, which is part of the European Union. Google, as our data processor, only processes the data to provide the chatbot functionality; Google does not store the chat conversations on its servers for its own purposes beyond the immediate processing required to operate the chatbot.
  • Legal Basis for Transfer: The data transfer to the USA is based on DPF: Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. This certification covers the specific data processing activities of this chatbot.
  • Data Processing Purposes: Your data will be processed for the following purposes:
    • To provide you with the chatbot service and respond to your inquiries (both learning-related and shopping-related).
    • To improve the quality and functionality of the chatbot.
    • To understand user needs and improve our products, services and courses.
  • Data Minimization: We will only collect and process the data that is strictly necessary for the above purposes.

In our opinion, there is now no business application - and that's even for very small companies - where this standard would still be up to date. If you disagree, we are definitely the wrong partner for you.

To be perfectly honest

We too once offered bare metal. But in our defense, we must say that there was simply nothing else at the time. Failures were the result, leading to customer dissatisfaction, even though we were constantly renewing the hardware and striving to keep failures as short as possible. Every server fails sooner or later. Since 2010, we have been convinced that such a failure must not interrupt your application, or at least your VM!

Therefore, no longer in our program since 2010:

  • Dedicated server (every server fails sooner or later)
  • Shared Hosting (on single servers)
  • No standard integrated DDoS basic protection for all (susceptible to network failures)

For the same reason, never in our program:

  • High component sharing (resulting in latencies)
  • VPS or V-Server (on single servers)
  • Container virtualization with non-caching kernels (resulting in only part of the RAM being used!)
  • Global Clouds (oversized clouds with corresponding latencies and failures)
  • Insufficiently segmented network (susceptible to floodings)
  • Backup only as a snapshot on the same data carrier (no real data backup)
  • Providers outside the EU (not GDPR-compliant)
  • First-level support by non-technicians
